Background and information about us

Grower
Since the start of its business activities in 1953, cekok citrus has increasingly acquired new citrus fruit fields year by year and finally established a group of companies with an expanded market share throughout the world by the participation of the second generation of the cekok family in 1982.

Packer
The group has a packing house of 30.000 square meters closed area with 40tones/hour production capacity in izmit city, which is 100 km away from istanbul. Izmit city gives big advantage, in terms of logistics, to the group when compared to other competitors' packing houses, which are mostly sited in the south of turkey (mersin/adana).

Exporter
Thanks to the group's brand name "cekok" which is very well-known by citrus importer companies in europe, our comany has no dificulty in exporting. How many tones packed each end of the day goes to our customers in different countries. Besides that as our packing house is sited in izmit city, our packed-citrus products' transport time to reach the main european markets takes at least 2 days earlier than other packers that are mostly sited in the south of turkey (mersin region).

Importer
Since cekok citrus is committed to supply the biggest supermarkets and some years, when domestic fruit production is not enough for the market demand, the group imports those fruit in demand, including citrus. However, exotic fruit are continously imported thoughout the year.

Bananas
The group imported bananas between 1990-1994. After 1994 and until year 2005 the group mostly concentrated on citrus business.

Beginning of the year 2005 by constructing the first and fully computer-controlled banana degreening rooms in turkey, the group has started importing green bananas again.

Thus, with this european-origin investment, the group restarted the banana business one step ahead of its competitors, that are in the business for many years.

Wholesales
In order to be in the heart of the fruit market, the group has 2 shops in the whole sale market in istanbul, one on the europeanside and one on the asian side. The shops have direct access to the supermarkets and keep uptodate dialog with them.

Logistics
As it is strongly believed that tasty-healthy fruit means fresh fruit, in order to keep freshness and so to transport the fruit in the shortest time in the right temperature to our customers, the group has decided to have their own cooling trucks in year 2002.


Finally, the company is able to keep the fruit under control right from the field through the packing house and till it reaches to the customers.
